Sorka was born and raised in Gridania, and learnt how to channel and control her aether from a young age thanks to her mother's tutelage. The viera enrolled with the Conjurer's Guild as soon as she was able to, and continued to bloom into a well-versed wielder of white magicks as the decades passed.Her first official employment came from an extended campaign with an Immortal Flames squadron, after which Sorka migrated to Ishgard to join with the Temple Knight Hospitaliers as a full-time medic. There, she honed her skills until they were brought to the attention of the Lord Commander — her prowess with handling severe battle damage would serve the Temple Knights well in combat, and Sorka was officially brought into the Ishgardian military in time for their efforts at reclaiming Ala Mhigo to begin.

Artemis met Lilia during a research trip to Gridania when he was only forty summers old, as she was tasked with guiding the elezen through the flora and fauna of the region. Second lieutenant of Sorka's platoon during the Battle for Ala Mhigo, Dahlia was responsible for leading the main extraction team; a unit of 12 medics who were key in escorting wounded soldiers from the battlefield to the chirurgeon tents near Loch Seid.She was unfortunately killed in action during the battle, body retrieved by her chocobo in the aftermath of the fighting.

A fellow proctor at Fury's Hallow, Sorka and Rezla's relationship is built on a mutual game of cat-and-mouse — teasing each other relentlessly until one of them finally takes the bait. As a Warrior of Light, Beau will often be absent for long stretches of time — however upon her return she will usually have some kind of gift for Sorka, gained from whatever wild adventure Beau has been partaking in, along with many stories of her various deeds to tell the healer over a hearty meal.

As a lieutenant of the Temple Knights, Sorka was one of the medics who provided support during the Alliance's operation to take back Ala Mhigo. After victory was taken the viera transferred to the Ala Mhigan army, where she is now registered as a reserve unit.

Sorka is not shy about her methods of healing — the nouliths that she carries mark her as a sage, one who has learnt the art of somanoutics. The viera is able to manipulate aether without such tools, but having learnt white magic through the use of a staff means that she excels at it when given foci to channel it with.

Sorka's somanoutics have taken on a different appearance to most others who practise the art — swimming with data and strange symbols rather than simply glowing with bright blue aether. The small pod that floats by her side seems to be synchronising with the sage, adding an additional layer to her magicks.

With a keen interest in "traditional" healing as well as aetherical, Sorka is both a bookworm and a botanist — she specialises in potioncraft research, utilising different plants and flowers to replicate the effects of certain magicks.

Living in The Lavender Beds means that Sorka is more often than not found in the climes of Gridania, frequently seen passing through New Gridania to visit both the Botanist's and Conjurer's Guilds.

During her military service, Sorka's comrades roped her into several games of mahjong in evening downtimes. Her determination to win eventually made her something of a local legend; the viera's thirteen-strong victory streak was never bested. Whilst Sorka fell out of practise after Ala Mhigo, the shuffle of tiles can still bring a smile to her face.

Sorka is intimately familiar with death — even the best medics can't save everybody. The resistance effort left her with PTSD, and she frequently wakes up screaming in the middle of the night due to the bad dreams it gives her.
